With the set piece tugging shirts at corners etc I’d like the offenders not sent off but made to sit on the side lines and the set piece retaken VAR can sort it and if both are doing it both can sit it out…..it would make for some interesting outcomes….

Just seen that Fredericks, Masuaku and Ashby are all out injured as well as Coufal, according to Football London on Alan's newspapers thread. So presumably Longelo will be on the bench.

West - So if Leicester win the ECL the team finishing 6th won't qualify for the EL?

Re: Team for Southampton - FA Cup
You make goid points Feet but would the authorities enforce such measures? You only have to look at the wrestling that goes on while players are waiting forca corner/free kick to be pinged over. That could be sorted with red cards being dished out but we'll wait a long time for this to be introduced.

Vlasic for Lanzini in more advanced role and Benrahma in for Fornals as part of a switch to a back 4 if things go pear shaped.

Re: Team for Southampton - FA Cup
Sky showed several examples of one of their players just sitting down and asking for treatment whilst the other players went for a drinks break.

Easy to police.

Players are not allowed to leave the field of play and managers are not allowed on the field of play during the match unless they have the referees permission.

If they players go off for a drink without the refs permission you book them and then you restart play and wave them back on when you feel like it.

If the manager or support staff enter the field of play you send the manager off.

They wouldn't do it again.

Re: Team for Southampton - FA Cup
Only 2 teams from PL allowed in EL.

Maximum.

Technically, one from the Premier League and one for the FA cup winners.

Would be reduced to 1, if England had 5 teams in Champions' League.

Or none from the Premier League, if FA cup won by a team outside the top 5, as well. Or Europa Conference won by Leicester and they finish outside the top 5.

TLF.

I saw that. Not sure how its 'policed' though ?

If a player goes down its a bit difficult to stop teamates going to the touchline for a drink and or instructions.

Think they used to call this sort of thing 'gamesmanship'.

Re: Team for Southampton - FA Cup
That is true about the “tactical” injury they get around 62nd-70th minute.
Sky picked up on it.

They didn’t force it against Norwich because Norwich got a genuine injury around that time. They still had a little chat and drink though.

Aah; sneaky fuckers! I’ll be watching out for that

Lawrenson predicting 1-0 to them!

Duke,
Supposedly one of their players fakes an injury in the 70th minute so they can get a small break and further instructions

Interesting stat about Southampton and their “ mini “ half times in the 70th minute of games.

Hope referees spot it.

"I do expect at least two of Noble, Vlasic and Benrahma to feature."

exile let's hope it's Benny and Vlasic that get the nod then

Re: Team for Southampton - FA Cup
Four games to win the FA Cup.
More to gain access to EL through PL.
More games to win for EL or not lose.
I've just read that if Leicester win ECL then their win supersedes 6 in the PL.
Only 2 teams from PL allowed in EL.
Not sure that's right.
Will have to investigate.

The Under 23 game postponed today so there could be some younger starters either Wednesday or the weekend.
would be good to see Oku Flex,Rivers and Alesi get some sort of run out.
